Hoosier Hills Food Bank Book Fair Volunteers
Hoosier Hills Food Bank (HHFB) hosts the Bloomington Community Book Fair October 15-20, 2026 at the Monroe County Fairgrounds. The book fair features over 100,000 items – books and much more. All proceeds go to the food bank, which serves 5 million pounds of food to communities across South-Central Indiana every year. Volunteers will help HHFB produce their biggest annual fundraiser by unpacking and organizing book sale items, and helping out around the fairgrounds.

Teen Friendly: Bug Fest Volunteers
Help visitors learn all about amazing insects at Bloomington’s annual Bug Fest! Volunteers can share their interest in outdoor education with children via five different volunteer roles: Welcome Table, Games/Activities, Crafts, Toddler Area, and Floater. On-site training is provided.
Date: September 26, 2025
Age Requirement: 16 and up. Volunteers under the age of 18 must have an Underage Waiver of Liability signed by a parent or guardian.

Help Monroe County Solid Waste Management District’s Materials for the Arts Program provide recycled and re-purposed materials for creativity to local nonprofits by fulfilling a wish from their wish list. The Materials for the Arts Wish List items include shopping carts, craft and art supplies, yarn, shells, various hand tools, and more.
