2 arrested in connection with abduction, rape

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Department arrested two men in connection with the abduction and rape of a Monroe County woman.
Dwayne V. Adamson, 40, and Jeffre Sims II, 33, face preliminary charges of rape, criminal confinement and possession of a firearm.
The police report, which was turned over from the Greene County Sheriff’s Department, states the victim told officers she had ended her relationship with her boyfriend, Adamson, and met with him on Sunday to exchange property after their breakup.
The victim told officers he allegedly got into her car and pointed a rifle at her and forced her to drive to the west side of the county, where he tied her up and forced her into the trunk of her car. The police report states he abandoned her car and placed the victim into his car, assaulting her at various county locations.
Investigators obtained a search warrant for Adamson’s residence at 2304 S. Rogers lot 45 and with the help of Bloomington Police Department’s Critical Incident Response Team, officers arrested Adamson at about 11 a.m. Wednesday.
Sims was arrested due to suspicion of his presence during the abduction.
Police said several weapons were found at the residence.
