Jordan River Fest – A Celebration of Art, Literature, Music and the Environment \nWHEN: 2 to 4 p.m. May 17\nWHERE: IU Art Museum, Special Exhibitions Gallery\nMORE INFORMATION: This event will celebrate America’s waterways, including Bloomington’s Jordan River, and will feature readings, performances and an opportunity to see the museum’s current special exhibit, Shallow Creek: Thomas Hart Benton and American Waterways. This event is free and open to the public, but seats are limited.

Microsoft Office 2007: What’s New in Word, PowerPoint & Outlook\nWHEN: 1:30 to 4 p.m. May 20\nWHERE: Library Information Commons\nMORE INFO: Attendees can learn how to use newer versions of Microsoft Office programs. Anyone interested in signing up can do so on the IT Training Web site, www.ittraining.iu.edu.

The Power of Narrative\nWHEN: 12 p.m. May 21\nWHERE: University Club Presidents’ Room\nMORE INFO: Psychologist and IU researcher/writer Marsha Roberts will read from her memoir “Tobacco’s Child” about the effect of tobacco use on her family and on post-World War II American culture. This event costs $11 for University Club members and $13 for nonmembers. Those who are interested should register with the University Club no later than noon May 19.

Kinsey Institute Juried Art Show 2008\nWHEN: 2 to 4 p.m. Monday-Friday through July 25\nWHERE: Morrison Hall, third floor\nMORE INFO: This exhibit features photographs, sculptures, paintings, prints and other media related to sexuality. The exhibit is free and open to the public.

Candlelight vigil\nWHEN: 8 p.m. May 16\nWHERE: Courthouse Square, downtown\nMORE INFO: IU’s Delta’s Friends for Burma will hold a candlelight vigil for the victims of the recent cyclone in Myanmar (formerly known as Burma). Donations will be accepted.
