Cross country teams make it to Nationals

The No. 19 men's cross country team qualified for the 2003 NCAA National Championships late Tuesday through an at-large bid. Thirty-one teams were chosen to compete in the men's and women's championship.\nNine Regional Champ-ionships were held this past weekend. The top two teams from each region automatically qualified for the National Championships. Thirteen at-large teams were also selected. \nThe Hoosiers finished fifth in the Great Lakes region but were one of the at-large teams selected. \nThe NCAA Division I Cross Country Championship Committee also announced that the IU women's cross country team received an at-large bid to compete in the 2003 NCAA National Championship. This is the second year in a row IU will compete in this meet.\nLast weekend, the women finished fourth in the Great Lakes Regional championships, behind in-state rival Notre Dame and Big Ten foes Michigan and Michigan State.\nThe 2003 Division I Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships will be held Monday, Nov. 24 at the Irv Warren Memorial Golf course in Waterloo, Iowa. The men's race will start at 11 a.m.
