World AIDS Day debate date changes\nThe date of the World AIDS Day debate has been changed. The debate will now take place at 7:30 p.m., Dec. 3, in the Teter Quad Formal Lounge. IU students will lead the fight against AIDS Dec. 1, as IU's Student Global AIDS Campaign chapter will participate in World AIDS Day in order to enhance education and awareness of the disease. For more information on the events, contact Dan O'Neill at djoneill@indiana.edu. \nGroups to discuss clean air initiatives\nA group of students will be holding a student-run town hall meeting to discuss "dirty power" and clean air in Indiana. \nThe meeting will discuss recent Bush administration rollbacks and the effects these changes will have on public health. The local meeting is a part of a national initiative to fight air pollution and "dirty power," called Clear the Air. \nMeeting organizer Samuel Goldman said the meeting's point is education.\n"The campaign has been going on since September," Goldman said. "It works to educate the public and elected officials. Right now we're working on stopping the Bush administration's Clear Skies initiative. It's a roll back, and this administration has been weakening provisions."\nThe town hall meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at Zion Evangelical United Church of Christ, at the corner of North and New Jersey Streets in Indianapolis. \nFeatured speakers will include Steven Jay, IU School of Medicine, Yajaira Baig, Hispanic/Latino Minority Health Coalition, Phil Stevens, School of Public and Environmental Affairs professor and member of the Indiana Air Pollution Board, James Miner, Otolaryngology Associates and member of the Indiana Air Pollution Board and Shirley Grigsby, ACORN.\nThe meeting will be sponsored in part by the Hoosier Environmental Council, Citizens' Action Coalition, The Sierra Club, Hoosier chapter and INPIRG.\nFor more information, visit www.cleartheair.org. \nCampus prepares for upcoming break\nDorms across campus will be shutting down Wednesday morning as students are let out for Thanksgiving break. Residential Programs and Services has advised students to disconnect all unnecessary appliances (but leave refrigerators plugged in), discard all perishable food items, empty trash cans and lock doors and windows. Mail will not be delivered over break. Students wishing to stay on campus must rent a room at Eigenmann Hall for $25 a night. \nThe campus bus schedule will also change during break. For all routes, there will be service on fixed routes or Bloomington Transit Access on Thursday, Thanksgiving Day. The 6 Campus Shuttle will operate on a Saturday schedule on Wednesday and Friday. The 7 Bryan Park Shuttle will offer not service on Wednesday and Friday. The C Route will operate on a Saturday schedule on Wednesday and Friday. For more information, call 336-RIDE.\nFraternity to present Christmas food, entertainment\nKappa Alpha Psi Fraternity is presenting "Christmas with the Kappas" from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., Dec. 12 in Ashton Quad's Barnes Lounge. The annual Christmas event will feature food and entertainment and the fraternity will give any donations of small toys to local families for the holiday season.
