The IU Police Department reported the following activity:
July 25\n• Bloomington Fire Department responded to a fire in the air conditioning unit at Mathers Museum. Damage was contained to the air conditioning unit. Estimated damage is $500.
July 26\n• Non-student Michael Casey, resident of West Lafayette, reported his 1993 Pontiac Grand Am stolen from Jones Avenue near University East Apartments. Estimated loss is unknown.\n• Senior Jae Sung Kim, resident of Tulip Tree Apartments, reported two tires slashed on his vehicle while parked in the Tulip Tree parking lot. Estimated loss is $200.
July 27\n• Freshman James Howard, 19, resident of East Third Street, was issued a citation for illegal consumption.\n• Non-student Nathan West, 19, resident of East Third Street, was issued a citation for illegal consumption.
July 28\n• An employee reported the theft of computer equipment from the Eigenmann Hall basement. Estimated loss is $6,807.60.\n• An employee reported the theft of astronomy equipment from the roof of Swain Hall West. Estimated loss is $8,300.
July 29\n• A construction worker reported the theft of company items from the Campus View Apartments activities room. Estimated loss is $397.\n• The building manager reported the theft of items from the Chemistry Building. Estimated loss is $100.\n• A staff employee reported the theft of items from her department in the Psychology Building. Estimated loss is $1,500.\n• Sophomore Kathleen Gettelfinger, resident of University East Apartments, reported damage to her vehicle while it was parked in the lot. Estimated damage is $143.\n• Senior Seung-Joon Lee, resident of University East Apartments, reported damage to her vehicle while it was parked in the lot. Estimated damage is $170.
July 30\n• Senior Geoffrey Mlinarcik, 23, resident of Northville, Mich., was arrested at East Tenth Street and Indiana Avenue and charged with driving while intoxicated.
August 5\n• Senior Andrew Mitchell, resident of East Covenanter Drive, reported the theft of 400 CDs and other items from his vehicle, which was parked at the SRSC. Estimated loss is $8,675.
