Brain Surgeons to operate in Bloomington this weekend

You might not have ever heard of the Brain Surgeons, but chances are you know one of their predecessors. The Surgeons are fronted by ex-Blue Oyster Cult drummer Albert Bouchard, who also wrote the bulk of the famed '70s arena rock giant's catalogue. A decade after leaving that band in the early 1980s, he teamed with his wife, rock critic Deborah Frost and bassist David Herschberg to form The Brain Surgeons, and have been rocking the States ever since. They're touring in support of their new record To Helen With Love, a tribute to cult rocker Helen Wheels who died in January of 2000. The Brain Surgeons call at the Cellar Lounge tonight at 10:30 p.m.
