The AMC CLASSIC Bloomington 11 theater, located at 1351 S College Mall Rd., will close Sept. 15. The theater, originally named Kerasotes ShowPlace East 11, was acquired and renamed by AMC in 2010.

Solar manufacturing startup Bila Solar announced Aug. 29 it will establish both its U.S. headquarters and a manufacturing facility in Indianapolis. In the announcement the company said it will invest $35 million into its new facility, creating more than 240 new jobs. Refurbishment of the former Eli Lilly facility Bila Solar acquired will begin this year.

People lined up outside Tailored Thrifts, the new student-run thrift shop in Bloomington, waiting for the door to open. Inside, Sierra Shambaugh, an IU senior and the store’s owner, had meticulously laid out the color palette, built chandeliers, painted walls and arranged fixtures to make sure everything was perfect.
