Cureton's Walks Buoy His On-Base Percentage

Senior center fielder Justin Cureton has the lowest average of any starter at .156. However, he is second on the team with eight walks, a statistic that has helped his on-base percentage reach .372, good for fifth on the team. "I think I've done well (in the leadoff spot)," Cureton said.

Michigan ends IU's season, thump Hoosiers 67-40

When IU Coach Miller looks at game film from this past season to use as motivation -- that is, showing what not to do -- he will have plenty of it featuring Michigan. The Wolverines beat IU twice in the regular season by an average margin of 17.5 points and made life miserable for the Hoosiers Thursday night at the 2013 Women's Big Ten Tournament in Hoffman Estates, Ill. Michigan thumped the Hoosiers 67-40 behind a dominant post game and fast break offense, using big runs at the start of each half to put the Hoosiers behind big in a hurry. The Wolverines started the game on a 12-0 run as IU missed its first eight shots from the field.

Swimmers selected to compete at the NCAA Championships

As the 2013 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships are approaching, the NCAA announced the field of competitors including 11 Hoosier student-athletes. The meet will take place at the IU Natatorium and IUPUI Sports Complex in Indianapolis during March 21-23.

Inge hired as new linebackers coach

IU has officially filled its 2013 coaching staff. The Hoosiers announced Wednesday morning that William Inge has been hired as their new linebackers coach and co-defensive coordinator, effective immediately. Though Inge will serve as the co-defensive coordinator, Doug Mallory, safeties coach and IU's co-defensive coordinator last season, will now be the defensive coordinator. Before deciding to come to Bloomington, Inge was the defensive coordinator and linebackers coach at Buffalo for the 2010 and 2011 seasons.

Hoosiers receive vote in Coaches Poll

The Hoosiers (6-2) received a vote today in the USA Today Coaches Poll. IU was picked to win the Big Ten this season by several national media outlets as well as the Big Ten coaches, yet this is their first time they have received a vote for the top 25 in the Coaches Poll. The Coaches Poll is composed of 31 collegiate baseball coaches who vote on the top 25 teams in the nation. IU is the only Big Ten team to receive any votes this season in the USA Today Coaches Poll. Hoosiers Game Against Sycamores Cancelled

Significant snowfall has caused the cancellation of IU's game Wednesday at Indiana State. An athletic department spokesman said rescheduling the Hoosiers' game against the Sycamores is to be determined. Though Indiana State Baseball tweeted at 2:39 that they would wait and see until Wednesday morning, the spokesman confirmed via text message that he was told the game would not be played as originally scheduled.

Williams joins 2013 IU recruiting class

Four-star wide receiver Taj Williams, a high school senior from Tallahassee, Fla., has committed to IU, becoming the 23rd member of the Hoosiers' 2013 class. "Yes I have committed to Indiana," Williams said Monday night.

Drouin Named Great Lakes Region Field Athlete of the Year

IU senior Derek Drouin can add yet another award to his already prestigious resume. The United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced Drouin as the Great Lakes Region Field Athlete of the Year. Drouin is a six time Big Ten champion and this also marks the sixth time he's been named a regional field athlete of the year (three indoor, three outdoor). The news comes a week after Drouin was named the Big Ten Field Athlete of the Year and of the Championships following his third-place finish in the heptathlon and victory in the high jump in Geneva, Ohio on Feb.

Sinclair named Honorable Mention All-Big Ten

Senior forward Aulani Sinclair has been named an Honorable Mention All-Big Ten, the conference announced Wednesday. Sinclair led the team in scoring with 15.9 points per game and set a number of records in the final year of her illustrious career. With seven 3-point makes against Iowa Thursday, Sinclair set the school record for 3-pointers in a single season with 72, passing the previous mark of 70. She became the 23rd player in program history to score 1,000 points in her career against Michigan State Jan.

Ferrell shares conference honor with Wisconsin's Dekker

Tuesday may be Senior Night, but an IU freshman earned an award for his recent heroics Monday morning. Freshman guard Kevin "Yogi" Ferrell was named Big Ten co-Freshman of the Week, sharing the honor with Wisconsin's Sam Dekker. Ferrell also took home the honor for his play in the season's opening week. In IU's Saturday win against Iowa, a win that would end up clinching a share of the Big Ten regular season title, Ferrell posted a career-high 19 points.
