Lexi and Mo

Graduate student Lexi Haskell sits with her cat, Mo. Haskell contracted COVID-19 in September and has since recovered.

Members of Chi Alpha handed out free water bottles Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights to partygoers at known drinking locations throughout Bloomington in honor of Little 500 weekend.


After their workout, Head Coach Jean Sherfick leads members in a cool-down stretch. She tells them about upcoming Orangetheory events, including a difficult workout week, called “Hell Week,” coming up the week of Halloween.


A member enters her data from her 12-minute run challenge while Head Coach Jean Sherfick helps. Next year, each treadmill will have these touch screen computers, so members can enter their data individually.


At the end of their run, Head Coach Jean Sherfick encourages the treadmill station to finish strong. This was the second time they had completed the 12-minute run for distance challenge, and soon they would be able to compare data with their previous run.

Head Coach Jean Sherfick spends one-on-one time coaching a member through rowing. Sherfick, a former yoga teacher, often reminds her students of their mind-body connection and encourages them to push themselves.


On the move, Head Coach Jean Sherfick walks from the weightlifting station to check on the rowing station. Members did a combination of rowing and resistance band exercises at this station.


Taking a deep breath at the beginning of her exercise, Head Coach Jean Sherfick demonstrates a dumbbell bench press. The members did five exercises in their 10 minutes at the weightlifting station.
