Hundreds sample exotic cuisine at McNutt Dining Hall

·

The McNutt Quad North Dining Room was filled with people of all ages waiting for one thing: free food. The room was also filled with Indian music and bits of conversation in many different languages while people of all ages waited in the 25-minute line. In all, there were eight restaurants, each offering a different dish representative of its culture.

Jordan River Forum

·

Time for a new mentality toward IU football The firing of Gerry DiNardo doesn't shock or disappoint me at all. What I am shocked, disappointed and downright appalled at is the disgusting sense of apathy and defeatism exhibited towards our football program as manifested by the three opinion pieces reacting to the Athletic Department's decision. If there is a better example of Monday morning quarterbacking from the bench, I've never seen it.

Yep, my nipple exploded

Breast. Bone. Lung. No matter how you wear it, one fact remains undeniably clear. Cancer is so hot right now! Totally vogue. It's like the iPod of diseases -- anyone who's anyone is getting it.

With a bloody smile

Want to see a nifty trick? I am going to write a word, and you, the reader, will sigh and begin speed-reading through the rest of this column: Sudan. For those of you who don't like current events -- who the hell cares -- it doesn't concern you -- read on about another IU basketball defeat or a campus lecture on a noted ethnomusicologist who will speak Thursday.

It never ends

·

I started this semester with the overwhelming decision to avoid graduate school like the plague and dive head-first into the pool of adulthood. It was a scary decision, but somehow I thought my final semesters of college would prepare me for the big, bad world. Boy was I wrong.

Privacy not the issue

·

Since Sept. 11, 2001, it's impossible to watch the news without mention of terrorist attacks, death tolls and suicide bombers. And among the news-speak mainstays, "privacy issues" rank high.

Community finds happiness in charitable organizations

·

Someone, somewhere once said, "Money can't buy happiness." Well, if happiness equates to Range Rovers or iPods, then he or she was completely wrong. But what if happiness actually had a different meaning? If happiness meant helping others, inspiring, uniting and learning, then this whole community would be in luck.

Ireland brings thoughts of home

·

Wow. I cannot believe this semester has flown by so quickly. Hopefully you're on the other end of this thinking the same thing. It really is incredible to imagine that only four short months ago I was awaiting and anticipating what Ireland would be like.

A comedy with serious undertones in 'Happy Birthday, Wanda June'

·

A birthday cake, a long-lost father and a vacuum cleaner salesman set up the plot for the play "Happy Birthday, Wanda June." Complete with mid-1970s bell bottom pants, and animal heads mounted on the wall, the play transports the audience back 35 years to a time when women had little power.

Hoosiers squeak past Louisville for win

·

After letting a 58-51 lead dwindle to a point with just more than a minute remaining in the game, the IU women's basketball team looked like it might fold under the pressure. Instead, timely free throw shooting and defense saved the day for the Hoosiers Friday in a 61-57 win against the University of Louisville.
