Zodiac Grade: A Extras: F

As a serial detractor of formulaic crime shows such as "C.S.I." and "Law & Order," I was pleasantly surprised by Fincher's adeptness at presenting the minutiae of the Zodiac case in fresh, exciting, terrifying ways. He never allows this particular search for the truth to sag under its own weight, or, by contrast, because of its own effortlessness. "Zodiac" is ominous, elusive and uniquely mysterious, like the killer himself.

Hanson The Walk Grade: A-

Maybe you hate where Hanson has been with sickeningly sweet chart toppers and long hair of ten years past, but even skeptics have to admit that where they're going is a long way from disrespected pop.

I Know Who Killed Me (R)Grade: D-

Tentative kudos to director Chris Siverston for attempting a new synthesis of the thriller genre, but the majority of "I Know Who Killed Me" plays out like a tedious slide show, with a color palette of punchy Kodachrome and a story line completely obliged to the perverse worship of imagery and intermittent sensations. Nevertheless, all judgments of exploitation aside, the film does place on display the spunk that at another time more properly defined Lohan's career.

Common Finding Forever Grade: C

The album doesn't bring anything new to the table or to Common's career. Be was a comeback album of sorts, after the '60s psychedelic-inspired Electric Circus alienated some listeners. On Finding Forever, we find Common content with his career one ladder rung from the top.

"Caddyshack" meets "Soul Plane"

Amidst quick music clips that read like mini music videos, the viewer is left juggling a love story, a flashback sequence featuring C-Note's father (a former caddy whose course record is not recognized by the club), an assassination plot carried out by two little people (apparently a comedy staple these days), a polo match, and a young, white caddy who has shots in his bag Happy Gilmore would envy.

If I ran Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock

The '80s game is just an encore, so it's understandable that there aren't any new features. This version is just a quick fix of songs to master until "Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock" lays down the gauntlet this fall. According to Wikipedia's game summary, there's a multi-layered battle mode which sounds incredible, new guitars and venues and a boss mode where you get to play Slash. Here are 20 songs I'd turn my amp up to 11 for:

While romance fans will be pleased, like most love stories "No Reservations" can be just as good from the couch as on the big screen. But if you're in the mood for love or need a good date movie, the film is a sure winner.

Fire ravages Bloomington businesses

A fire Wednesday afternoon gutted the Monroe County Pizza Department, 3890 W. Third St., destroyed several adjacent businesses and heavily damaged others. The blaze, which started at the pizzeria, was only visible as smoke at first, though flames eventually leapt through the roof of the building and spread to other businesses in the strip mall, Bloomington City Fire Department Chief Jeff Barlow said. Firefighters received the call for the fire at about 3:40 p.m. and had it under control by about 4:40 p.m., Barlow said. Although no one was injured in the fire, two firefighters were taken to Bloomington Hospital for observation because of Wednesday’s high temperature combined with the heat from the flames.

Reported shooting was hoax

Indiana State police have determined that an Indianapolis man who reported he was shot by a hitchhiker near the Marion-Johnson county line fabricated the story.
