#JungleExpress living out IU tradition as riders

Walking in the front door of his home, it’s evident. Junior Brad Murrell lives in a jungle. A 6-foot long stuffed animal boa constrictor guards the top of the couch. Two spotlights with green bulbs cast an earthy look to the room while a laser-printed sign greets those who enter, “Welcome to the Jungle.”

Goals set on international sustainability

Jeffrey R. White’s research is beyond Indiana’s level of sustainability. In fact, White’s research is at a more international level and raises questions about the impacts of humans on ecosystems.

IU geography awarded grant to study mangrove changes

IU researchers were recently awarded a $637,000 grant by NASA to study the impact of human and climate changes on the Sundarban mangrove forests of Bangladesh, the largest remaining continuous patch of mangrove forests in the world.

Informatics group continues to find company errors

Graduate student Rui Wang and associate instructor XiaoFeng Wang did it again. The pair’s research group found errors in Amazon’s payment system that would allow malicious users to receive free merchandise. This is their second Internet security discovery this year.

Sophomore Ress earns Big Ten’s highest honor

When sophomore Eric Ress won six of his first eight races of the 2010-2011 season and Big Ten Swimmer of the Week, he erased any doubt that he wasn’t ready to claim a spot as one of the premier swimmers in the conference.
