A Bloomington woman faces a preliminary charge of domestic aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a Class C felony, after allegedly attacking her boyfriend with a box cutter.

Bloomington included in Google Summer of Code

The Summer of Code used a program called GeoReporter, a service for Bloomington residents to alert the city to any safety hazards in the area. It works with Bloomington’s preexisting service, an Open 311 tracking application called uReport. With this program, citizens can request repairs for potholes, street lights and sidewalks using applications for mobile devices.

Ind. unemployment rises despite job growth

Figures released last week by the Indiana Department of Workforce Development show a promising continuation of a nine-month trend of job creation in the state. Job increases total 3,300, a growth rate of 1.7 percent. That’s nearly double the national 1 percent average.

At about 5 a.m. Sunday, a woman claiming an addiction to synthetic marijuana, commonly referred to as spice, allegedly attempted to burglarize Smoke Shop at 309 E. Winslow Road.
