To remove impaired motorists from Indiana roadways, troopers from the Indiana State Police Bloomington Post will conduct a sobriety check point at an undisclosed location in Monroe County Friday.
Troopers encourage drivers passing through the checkpoint to have their drivers’ licenses and registration ready to present to troopers, according to a press release.
Drivers will be detained briefly while troopers determine whether further investigation is necessary.
Impaired drivers are responsible for billions of dollars in property damage, personal injury and death annually, said state police.
