Heban sets his sights on the NFL

IU alumnus Greg Heban arrived in Bloomington in 2009 as a pitcher for the Hoosier baseball team. Four and a half years later, he is at Fit Speed Athletic Performance in Weston, Fla. to train for the 2014 NFL Draft alongside Chicago Bears wide receiver Brandon Marshall and former All-Pro wide receiver Chad Johnson.

Penn State leads IU at halftime

After falling behind 17-4 to Penn State in the first four minutes and 20 seconds, IU clawed its way back to cut the Niitany Lions’ lead to 41-37.

Bye week provides IU with more time to practice

With an entire week without a game after suffering a 73-56 defeat to No. 5 Michigan State, IU (10-5, 0-2) has had a lot of time to prepare for its matchup against Penn State (9-7, 0-3) on Saturday.

IU fires two defensive coaches

IU Coach Kevin Wilson announced Friday afternoon that Defensive Coordinator Doug Mallory and Defensive Line Coach Jon Fabris will not return to the coaching staff in 2014.

IU Coach Curt Miller said that an undefeated start and a win against former No. 22 Iowa in the Hoosier’s Big Ten opener does not change the mindset of his team as they look toward Ohio State.

IU women's basketball back in action

On Jan. 4, the IU women’s basketball game against Purdue was cancelled. The inclement weather, which forced the matchup against the Boilermakers to be postponed, gave the team extended time to prepare for Ohio State. Despite concern for the additional time between games his team has, IU Coach Curt Miller said the team has remained focused.

Crean calls for Vonleh to be more demanding

Following IU’s 73-56 loss to No. 5 Michigan State at home on Saturday, IU Coach Tom Crean delivered a call to action to freshman forward Noah Vonleh. It was loud and clear; Crean wants Vonleh to have more authority in the paint.

COLUMN: IU needs a shooter

IU scored just 56 points, the second lowest output of the season. And without a consistent shooter, the offense is doubtful to see improvement.
