Hoosiers not phased by schedule change

·

Facing No. 61 DePaul without junior Thomas Richter and with senior David Bubenicek nursing an injured wrist was not going to be an easy task for the IU men's tennis team. If the No. 63 Hoosiers did not come ready to play, they very well could have seen an 'L.'

The IU wrestling team usually ends practice with scrimmages in which coach Duane Goldman simply tells the squad to wrestle. These scrimmages are sometimes sluggish after hours of practice and lifting. There was no such sluggishness this week.

Attack at the Mack

The road isn't very kind to the IU men's basketball team. It hasn't been before -- the Hoosiers are 2-6 away from Assembly Hall this season -- and it certainly won't be Thursday. IU will travel through the ice and snow up to West Lafayette to battle in-state rival Purdue at 7 p.m. tonight. The Hoosiers' road ahead could provide their most crucial challenge. Tuesday afternoon, IU coach Kelvin Sampson stressed the importance of the team's remaining schedule this season, but also said the Hoosiers can't overlook the importance of their tilt with Purdue.

Sampson shirts are a little scary

·

I love Kelvin Sampson. You love Kelvin Sampson. I'll bet even Bruce Weber loves Kelvin Sampson (even though we'll never hear him say it in public). And why not? Sampson has IU winning again, has replaced a lackadaisical Mike Davis with intensity worthy of the Big Ten and is fighting for an IU student section. What's not to love? And so we've expressed our love in the only way we know how here at IU: T-shirts!
