There were a lot of lasts at Assembly Hall on Senior Night – the last basket, the last shot, the last rebound, among others. But it was one senior’s first that had everybody talking. Forward D.J. White’s buzzer-beating 3-pointer at the end of the first half, his first 3-pointer in his collegiate career, was the highlight in the Hoosiers’ 69-55 win over Minnesota in the final game of the season at Assembly Hall.  VIDEO:  IU Senior Night

Hoosiers begin Under Armour Invite

While most IU students will still be in Bloomington today waiting for spring break to start, the Hoosiers (1-8) are already in Florida. The Hoosiers are one of 14 teams competing in the Under Armour Invitational hosted by the University of South Florida this weekend.

It’s taken three games, two weeks and one horrific loss, but Lance Stemler thinks the IU men’s basketball team is ready to accept IU interim coach Dan Dakich as its leader. “We really are starting to see coach Dakich as the head coach now,” said Stemler, a senior forward. “I guess there was a little bit of transition from going from assistant to head coach.”

Brett Favre has had enough. After a wild ride marked by fist-pumping highs, head-shaking lows and a record number of consecutive starts, the 38-year-old quarterback told the Green Bay Packers on Tuesday that he intends to retire.

IU junior upsets field during Big Tens

A No. 16 seed has never beaten a No. 1 seed during March Madness. A runner seeded last going into the finals of a 600-meter run also had never beaten a No. 1 seed, especially when the No. 1 runner happens to be a former NCAA champion and five-time All-American.

IU's lost to Michigan State Sunday likely knocked the No. 12 team out of the race for the Big Ten championship. Michigan State won the game 103-74 and the 103 points were the most given up by the Hoosiers this season.  BLOG:  Basketblog

Hoosiers dine in Spartan hell

EAST LANSING, Mich. – At the end of IU’s 103-74 loss to Michigan State, Spartan guard Drew Neitzel kissed the “S” in the middle of the court – a tradition for graduating seniors at the Breslin Center on Senior Day. Meanwhile, the Hoosiers likely kissed their Big Ten title hopes goodbye.
