Senior Night caps off career of four Hoosiers

Of the 11 banners hanging from the rafters of Assembly Hall, 10 belong to the accomplishments of men’s teams. Members of the women’s basketball team said IU coach Felisha Legette-Jack does not let them forget that fact, but the current senior class might reverse that trend. Legette-Jack said she wants the tradition and legacy to be about an all-around approach.



IU beats Michigan 67-61, finishes out regular season

In basketball, March signifies one thing: the NCAA tournament. With no spot solidified for the Hoosiers, a win against the 10th-place team in the conference would only help their case to get in. The Hoosiers got that win Sunday, defeating Michigan 67-61 on Senior Day.




Hoosiers beat Michigan by 6

The IU women's basketball team closed out the regular season today with a 67-61 victory over Michigan at Assembly Hall. The Hoosiers hope the win will help secure a spot in this year's NCAA Tournament. Check the IDS Above the Rim blog for more information about the game

Hoosiers place 5th at Big Ten Championships

Upon completion of the Big Ten Championships in West Lafayette Saturday, No. 7 IU men’s swimming and diving team placed fifth with 449.5 points, 379.5 behind champion No. 4 Michigan. No. 9 Ohio State was second, followed by Minnesota and No. 14 Purdue.

IU falls to Penn State 61-58 in final seconds

The Hoosiers held the lead late against Penn State, but IU didn’t have enough to pull off the upset, losing 61-58. Matt Roth's game-tying three with seconds to play fell just short

Men's swimming and diving in 5th

With one night remaining in the Big Ten Championships in West Lafayette, the IU men’s swimming and diving team eyes a best-case-scenario second place finish, but in order to do so, has its work cut out for it.

IU to face Penn State on Saturday

IU men’s basketball coach Tom Crean never set a timetable on how long it would take to rebuild the Hoosiers. The quest to return IU basketball to glory is proving to be a challenging one.

Players deserve some respect

One hundred and twenty more minutes, plus the trip up State Road 37 for the Big Ten Tournament next month, and then we can all safely assume this season will end.

After the first night of the Big Ten Championships in West Lafayette, the No. 7 IU men’s swimming and diving team finds itself in a second place tie with No. 11 Minnesota.




Crean: Players more mentally tired than physically tired

The IU alma mater rang more like a funeral dirge than a college anthem after the IU men’s basketball team fell 75-53 to Northwestern on Wednesday. The loss was the Hoosiers’ first at home to Northwestern in the Wildcats’ last 36 visits to Assembly Hall and IU’s 21st of the season.

Captains ready for Big Tens

Although the IU men’s swimming and diving team has not competed since Feb. 7, in preparation for this weekend’s Big Ten Championships its three senior captains have been anything but quiet.

Secondary recruiting violation self-reported

IU’s compliance department discovered the secondary recruiting violation on Nov. 21 and self-reported the instance to the NCAA and Big Ten on Dec. 10. The coaching staff’s “mistake” was revealed during a routine check of compliance office’s phone call monitoring system.
