Friday night will be the last time the Hoosier faithful will see Angel Escobedo get the Hoosiers off to an early lead at 125 pounds, the last time they will see Matt Coughlin compete in a grind-it-out match at 149 pounds, the last time fans can get on their feet for a Trevor Perry pin at 175 pounds, and the last time they will get a chance to witness Nate Everhart secure a Hoosier victory at heavyweight.

Buckeyes roll past Hoosiers

Basketball isn’t known as a contact sport, and the more passive team lost in IU’s 69-52 faltering against Ohio State on Wednesday. Similar to the first contest on Jan. 6 in Columbus, Ohio, IU struggled against the larger, more physical Buckeyes.

Hoosiers outplayed in big loss

·

The NBA All-Star Game 2010 Weekend won’t begin until Friday, but Wednesday’s IU and Ohio State game at Assembly Hall had the looks of it. There was plenty of dunking – alley-oops, two-handed flushes and a near-perfect windmill attempt by Ohio State’s William Buford. There were a fair amount of 3-pointers shot.

IU finishes 14th in Puerto Rico, season-worst

IU coach Clint Wallman and the IU women’s golf team opened up the 2010 spring season tournament schedule with a 14th-place finish in the Lady Puerto Rico Classic. Despite playing in one of the toughest fields in the nation, the Hoosiers got off to a hot start with a 304 in round one, putting them in sixth place. A second-round 316 total dropped IU to 13th out of the 16-team field. The Hoosiers closed the tournament with a 321 on Tuesday in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Hoosier guard ready for second chance

Before every home game, he is there.  On the same court where he shot 9-of-11 and scored 29 points against Ohio State. On the same court where he lost 10 games and won five. On the same court where this season he hoped to help the Hoosiers return to national prominence. He is in the same huddle, among the same candy-striped wearing teammates he played with, some for a whole season, some for only two games.

With an NCAA Championship and an Olympic roster spot already scratched off her list, Christina Loukas was still pining for a USA Diving National Championship. Now, the IU graduate can tick that box, too.

Joining the ranks of over 400 members of the IU men’s soccer family is the 2010 class: Kerel Bradford, Ryan Bristol, Jacob Bushue, Nikita Kotlov, Dylan Lax, Matt McKain, Harrison Petts, Taylor Reeves and Blake Wise. “This is a very talented group that I feel can make a positive impact in the program,” IU coach Todd Yeagley said. “The 2010 class will certainly give us a big boost moving forward.”
