Grad students' constitution ratified by several groups

·

Independence is the goal of the Graduate and Professional Student Organization, and the organization is rapidly approaching its achievement. A constitution proposed in December, which establishes the GPSO as an independent organization and breaks it away from the IU Student Association, has been ratified by several academic departments.

Program bridges gap between business, arts

·

Uniting the Kelley School of Business and the College of Arts and Sciences in ways that are not only unique to IU but also to universities across the nation, the Liberal Arts and Management Program continues to expand its role at IU. Created only 12 years ago, LAMP is a program that brings students into the world of liberal arts and business, creating a bridge between the two and expanding students' possibilities upon graduation.

IU students help generate big funds

·

For some people, the opportunity to don a pair of bowling shoes and a technicolor silk shirt is enough to bring them out to the lanes. For others, it is the chance to raise money for a charitable cause. Whatever their motives were, nearly 400 bowlers participated in the IU Bowl for Kids Sake at Suburban Lanes last night and Tuesday night. Proceeds from the event benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Monroe County.

I should be taking a nap

·

I hate photographing total strangers. So, of course, that is exactly what I am doing on a nice Monday afternoon when I should be inside taking a nap. I cannot believe I am missing a nap for this. Naps are an integral part of my life. Even more so than getting into embarrassing situations and having to sit there while my face turns incredibly red because it is a horrible, horrible part of my body and has a vendetta against me. This has happened so many times, it's not even funny.

Who are we trying to impress?

·

On Valentine's Day I coincidentally got seated across from John Mellencamp and his wife, a former Victoria Secret model. And as I sat there trying to pretend like I was listening to my boyfriend speak and not undressing the famous rock star with my eyes, I noticed his wife had a cute skirt on. It was leather with fringes and surely priced at well more than the balance in my checkbook. And then I decided it was that time -- you know, when the girl gets up and goes to the bathroom to "freshen up."

Axis of evil works both ways

·

\"I think it will take years before we can repair the damage done by that statement," Jimmy Carter said last week. He refers to the president's "overly simplistic and counter-productive" approach to national security. On his trip to Asia, George W. Bush decided to silence the harsh phrase "axis of evil." But the impact still remains.
