A crappy column

·

We have a character in our house and his name is General Funk. In the figurative sense, it’s Sly Stone meets Patton. That’s the funny sense.

When Interim Provost Michael McRobbie takes the reins from departing IU President Adam Herbert on July 1, he will immediately realize how vast the University has become. Forgive the cliche, but with great power comes great responsibility. In accordance with incoming President Michael McRobbie’s new contract, with a substantial pay-hike comes greater accountability. The details of McRobbie’s contract were made public last week, complete with some changes from President Adam Herbert’s contract including a $40,000 pay increase (making his salary about average among similarly-sized schools) and basic annual reviews by the board of trustees.

Theme parties: Dress outside the box (or closet)

·

The walk of shame. Ordering Pizza Express at 3 a.m. and passing out before it arrives. Trying to be the first person to pee on one of those ridiculous $50,000 musical clocks on campus. What do all of these have in common? Well, they were all pretty fun for me last night! Just kidding, there was no way I was going to pass out before I got my cheese bread and ranch. Forget my diet. I stop counting calories when I start losing the ability to count.

The review was adopted by the Smithsonian Board of Regents in January, though it was not released until Wednesday.
