Wake Forest crushes Hoosiers

The IU men's basketball team could not hang with a more athletic, more experienced Wake Forest squad as the Demon Deacons stomped the Hoosiers 83-58 tonight in Winston-Salem, N.C. For complete coverage, visit the Basketblog.

Trust us, the movie is even more weird than this picture.

Vaginas on Mars

·

I can’t recommend this movie for general viewing, but if you like the Flaming Lips, psychedelic science fiction or seeing a lot of vaginas, you’ll like “Christmas on Mars.”

And the suit wasn't even the worst thing about "Hancock."

Forgettable superhero

·

Although “Hancock” racked up more money than most summer flicks and has a solid first half, the horrendous conclusion and lack of coherent plot make it next-to-impossible to enjoy.

Wall-E: The coolest robot ever.

Pixar gets it perfect

·

Although it has become a cliche to say it, Pixar has outdone itself.Besides “Cars,” each new film the animation studio has released has been richer in not only animation but overall substance. So it comes as no surprise that “WALL-E” is Pixar’s strongest film to date and arguably the best movie of the year.

Mudvayne: Just as creepy without the odd masks and face paint.

A new chapter

·

While The New Game is pretty good overall, the songs start to seem the same as it drags on. Mudvayne show they have the ability to play good music heavy or soft, with plenty of pop hooks to go with their thrashing sound, but could spice it up a bit with a new arrangement or two.

Foam parties are the best.

Fixing the dancing deficit

·

The problem with indie rock music these days: no one dances.Well, that’s the problem according Brian Morris, Jacob Carey, David Benedetti, and Tim West, the childhood friends who grew up to become the band Caves.

For a group of guys that have made so much money, one would think they could afford pants without holes.

Nickelback does it again

·

Many bands tend lose their signature sound over the years when they try to mix it up, but that hasn’t happened yet to Nickelback. Overall, Dark Horse has a solid rock feeling and doesn’t lose the sound that we’ve come to know and recognize as Nickelback. They have once again captured the relatable feelings of holding onto love and having a good time in the music they produce.

David Cook is clearly one of the tougher "American Idol" competitors.

The time of his life

·

Cook’s appearance on “American Idol” may drive comparisons between him and Chris Daughtry, but his more distinct voice and personal vocals make this a strong debut and one of the better initial releases from an “Idol” competitor.

Which one of Beyonce's identities is this?

Dual identities work for Beyonce

·

Sasha Fierce, Tonya Ferocious, Suzie Sunshine.Beyonce can call herself whatever she damn pleases if it results in her churning out delectable pop and R&B. For her third solo album, Beyonce has released the two disc I Am ... Sasha Fierce. Disc one is a compilation of personal songs from the singer, while she embodies her diva stage-alter-ego Sasha Fierce on the second.

Is any band more pretentious than The Killers?

Too much pop, not enough snap, crackle

·

On Day & Age, The Killers have perfected the sound that made them so popular in the first place. Their newest release makes 2006’s Sam’s Town look like a scrappy, thrown-together album released under pressure due to their great success from their debut Hot Fuss.

Finally

·

As a longtime Guns N’ Roses fan, it’s difficult for me to believe I was just 9 years old when the grandiose Use Your Illusion I and II were released. Since then, Axl Rose has spent countless years in studios all over the world attempting to perfect the opus that would come to be called Chinese Democracy.

Kanye West or the Grim Reaper dressed up in bling?

Heartbreak done right

·

We’ve dropped out of college, re-registered and graduated with Kanye West. Now comes the post-graduation identity crisis. After three groundbreaking rap albums, the rapper makes his boldest move yet by baring his soul without rapping and instead singing with an Auto-Tune effect and with heavy use of Roland-TR 808 drum machines.

This movie would have been a huge hit if it were still 2005.

Too many Christmases, not enough laughs

·

With the holidays here, “Four Christmases” will prepare you for life with the in-laws, but it’s no different from any other Christmas film. It begins with people not much into the season who proceed to gain rich experiences and learn the true values of spending the holidays with the family.

Jake Gyllenhaal was asked to voice the hamster in the bubble, but declined because he didn't want to be typecast.

‘Bolt’ brings the comedic thunder

·

Fresh, fun, familiar and family-friendly, “Bolt” is a heartwarming story about a girl and her dog. Occasionally unoriginal, the movie is nevertheless one of the best things to come from Disney’s animation department without Pixar’s help in a long time.
