Sidetracked

Artist: Ludo
Song: “Go Getter-Greg”

Ludo promotes a glam-rock image while singing poppy lyrics that take you back to grade school. These bums wail of wanting girlfriends and getting high, but they just prove that bands trying to be like Green Day never understand how annoying this static can be.

Artist: Scott Weiland
Song: “Missing Cleveland”

Scott Weiland’s new song almost sounds like something from his past. The former Stone Temple Pilots front man puts forth a laid back, mid-tempo rock song that recalls something from the band’s album Tiny Music. Weiland’s voice is just the same as it was in the 1990s, which gives this solo effort a nostalgic feel.

Artist: Britney Spears vs. Martin Solveig
Song: “I Want Circus (Matt Green Mashup Mix”

Britney Spears may or may not be doing the pop world any favors with her newest “comeback,” but this remix shows she has a voice perfect for dancefloor. The snyths range from buzzing to shimmering, and the beat is irresistible. But best of all, Spears doesn’t sound like a worn-out pop singer – she sounds like a dark dance queen.
