Fire reported at McNutt

At about 11:20 p.m., the Bloomington Fire Department and IU Police Department responded to fires on McNutt Bordner's second floor.

Fans fill Kirkwood for celebration

Inside Nick’s English Hut, fans erupted. The scoreboard read 73-72.  IU beat Kentucky.  Beers spilled, the floors and tables shook and cheers of “hoo hoo hoo Hoosiers” broke out.

'Wat' a finish

After Kentucky guard Doron Lamb hit the second of two free throws to extend the Wildcats' lead to two, IU forward Christian Watford hit the game winning three-pointer as time expired to give IU (9-0) a 73-72 win against the No. 1 ranked Wildcats (8-1) on Saturday evening.


Final: Indiana 73, Kentucky 72

Indiana has upset No. 1 Kentucky, 73-72. The Hoosiers are 9-0.

This is the first time a Tom Crean-led team takes the court against the Wildcats and has a legitimate chance of winning from the outset. Once the final buzzer sounded in Kentucky’s victory against North Carolina, IU fans knew they would get their shot at beating the No. 1 team in the country at home Saturday.

Freshman Dorina Szekeres has more than the normal first-year student issues on her college plate. An exchange student from Hungary, she is currently training for her country's Olympic team while learning her new surroundings.



Leaders react to Kappa Sig suspension, few new details released

An official statement released by Alex Sabol, president of Kappa Sigma fraternity, said the student transported fom the fraternity to a Bloomington-area hospital Wednesday “is healthy and in fine physical condition.”

Ind. chief justice to retire, speak at commencement

He has been sitting at the bench for nearly 25 years. In March, he will retire from leading the state’s highest court. Chief Justice Randall Shepard has been in his position in the Indiana Supreme Court since March 4, 1987. At the time, he was the nation’s youngest chief justice and today, at 65, he is the longest-serving state chief justice in the country.

Andujar, IU to take on IUPUI

The Hoosiers will travel to Indianapolis for their closest road game of the season to take on IU-Purdue University Indianapolis. The match is set to tip off at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Jungle, the Jaguar’s home court.

McGhee's talent goes beyond basketball

On the outside, she is just another student athlete representing the University and playing for the women’s basketball team. She is the starting shooting guard this season and averages 11.0 points and 4.3 rebounds per game. But on the inside, McGhee is a self-trained musician who has a passion for playing, writing and listening to music.
