The African American Arts Institute will celebrate 40 years of soul music this weekend with IU Soul Revue’s annual spring concert.

An IU freshman is one of the top 10 contestants to become a Radio City Christmas Spectacular Rockette.On May 3, Brittany Ignas will travel to New York City for her final audition.

Salute celebrates graduates

The event, called Senior Salute, will take place from 4 to 6 p.m. It will include a number of activities for attendees, including booths with representatives from each of the IU schools, as well as individual alumni chapters from throughout Indiana.

The musical will start at 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday. Tickets are $20 to $41 for children and students with a valid ID. For the general public, tickets are $38 to $60. Brooks, a three-time Tony winner, wrote the music and lyrics and co-wrote the book for the musical, which is based on his 1974 cult classic film.
