Groth named interim vice provost

Following the departure of Vice Provost Sonya Stephens, Dennis Groth has been named interim vice provost for undergraduate education, IU announced Monday afternoon.

Indiana University bid farewell to yet another leader in higher education May 20 in the IMU. Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education Sonya Stephens, who served since January 2009, has been selected to become the next vice president of academic affairs and dean of faculty for Mount Holyoke College. She will assume her new role July 1.

The Hoosiers captured their first outright Big Ten regular season title since 1932 with an 8-1 victory Saturday at Bill Davis Stadium’s Nick Swisher Field by scoring six runs through the first three innings.

IU President Michael A. McRobbie left IU May 18 for a 15-day trip to East Asia to strengthen IU’s ties to South Korea, China and Taiwan, according to a press release.
