Woman punches man during attempted robbery

The 47-year-old woman reported to police at about 2:30 p.m. she was walking on a gravel road east of the B-Line Trail. Two men approached her and one of them attempted to steal her backpack when she punched him in the face.

The City of Bloomington Commission on Hispanic and Latino Affairs organized its third annual Latino Leader and Organization/Agency Awards Saturday at the Monroe County Public Library in celebration of National Hispanic Heritage Month.

Sororities earn top Greek GPAs

For the spring 2013 semester, the top three positions were taken by sororities — Kappa Delta, Alpha Omicron Pi and Phi Mu, with average GPAs of 3.496, 3.470 and 3.439, respectively.
