After a long season that started in December, Indiana track and field closed out its 2025-26 season in Eugene, Oregon, at the 2026 NCAA Outdoor Championships June 10-13. The Hoosiers sent five athletes across four events to compete at the final meet of the NCAA season. Indiana placed 35th overall in the men's events with seven points and did not score in the women's events.

Senior John Colquitt started the competition for the Hoosiers, placing eighth in his men’s 400-meter hurdles heat with a time of 49.46 seconds. He finished his time with Indiana while holding the fourth-fastest time in the indoor 60-meter hurdles, 14th-fastest time in the 110-meter hurdles and eighth-fastest time in the 400-meter hurdles in school history.

Senior Tyler Carrel competed in the men’s pole vault Wednesday as well. He finished eighth overall and earned first-team All-American with his mark of 5.60 meters. Carrel finished his career at Indiana, placing fourth all-time in the indoor pole vault and second all-time in the outdoor pole vault.

Senior Trelee Banks-Rose earned an automatic qualification into the men’s 200-meter finals as he finished second in his semifinal heat. In the final, he ran a personal best and school record time of 20.02 seconds with a legal +1.5 m/s tailwind, earning him third place.

This mark by Banks-Rose broke the men’s 200-meter dash school record of 20.07 seconds that was previously set by Albert Robinson in 1984. Banks-Rose finished his time at Indiana with the school record in the outdoor and indoor men’s 200-meter dash and the third-fastest time in the indoor 60-meter dash.

The 800-meter run had two Hoosiers compete, but neither qualified for their finals. Senior Camden Marshall placed fourth in his heat and ninth overall with a finishing time of 1:45.88 seconds. Marshall finished his time with Indiana with the fourth-fastest time in the indoor 600-meter run and seventh in the outdoor men’s 1500-meter run. He also has school records in both the indoor and outdoor men’s 800-meter run.

Sophomore Veronica Hargrave placed third in the first heat and eleventh overall in the women’s 800-meter dash. While she was unable to qualify for the final, Hargrave still finished her season with school records in the women’s indoor 600-meter run and in both the indoor and outdoor 800-meter dash.

Overall, Indiana track and field can conclude its season on a positive note, looking back on many personal bests and school records. Despite four of the competing athletes not returning next year, the team can still be hopeful to place well in the coming years.
