IU looks for victory in last meet before Big Ten Tournament

Even though they have had a three-week break, the No. 8 men’s swimming and diving team is still riding the momentum of its victory over Tennessee into this weekend. The Hoosiers will be hosting the Purdue Boilermakers in their last regular season meet on Saturday, where they hope to avenge a tough loss to their in-state rival last season. A year ago, the then-No. 11 Hoosiers lost to then-No. 18 Purdue 125-118.

IU has historically dominated Purdue on the mats, leading the career series 51-30-3. But this year, IU coach Duane Goldman knows the No. 17 Hoosiers won’t be able to coast to a victory.

After a drawn-out 4-3 victory over Kentucky last Saturday, the No. 26 IU women’s tennis team is hoping for an easier time this weekend against unranked Marquette and Morehead State. Unlike Saturday’s match, both opponents possess losing records (1-4 and 1-5, respectively), but the Hoosiers said they are not underestimating either of them.

A Hoosier shooting guard was a thorn in the side of the Illinois basketball team Thursday night as the No. 14 IU men’s basketball team defeated the Illini 83-79 in double overtime.

Lecture examines Biblical evidence

In a Wednesday night lecture at Ballantine Hall titled “Has God Spoken? Is the Bible what it claims to be?,” Jed Lee, who has an MBA and law degree from University of Oregon in Eugene, presented what he called “prima facie evidence” for the belief that the Bible is a divine document.
