No Kaleidoscope needed to recognize this is good

·

If you’ve experienced their live show, it’s obvious that Underoath has always been a band that deserved to have a live album. Their energy and presence on stage is almost unmatched within the scene and Survive, Kaleidoscope depicts all that perfectly.

The King of R&B still on the throne

·

While Usher’s sixth album may not sound as "grown up" as he claims it to be, Here I Stand showcases the undisputed King of R&B’s ultra-smooth voice and undeniable talent for rushing listeners to the dance floor.

Make Believe seems only to be getting better with age.

Defining reality

·

There are few bands in the world that can combine midwestern sensibilities, postmodernism, and Wurlitzers to create an accessible brand of music. Chicago’s Make Believe are doing just that and succeeding. Their new album, Going to the Bone Church, though a short listen, is still a great one.

Jason Pierce sings of his near-death experience in Spiritualized’s new release.

Who's got spirit?

·

It’s not the kind of album that you can pop into your car CD player and go for a cruise, it’s the kind that you listen to in your room….by yourself.  Check out the new Spiritualized album “Songs in A&E” and see what years of drug abuse and depression can do to a guy.

1997 wows audiences and fashion designers with its new album On The Run.

Running toward something good

·

On The Run is a pleasant surprise from 1997 that includes some really good work by every member. Their sound is nothing outrageously original, but the high-quality dueling male and female vocals definitely make it worth a listen.

Scott Speedman strikes the typical “look behind you!” pose.

'Stranger' than fiction

·

"The Strangers" seems near genius in its simplicity, and yet stretching that simplicity out into a two hour movie was obviously a clumsily met challenge for first time director Bryan Bertind.

Kristin Davis, Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, and Kim Cattrall reprise their roles in the ultimate chick flick.

Success and the City

·

In the chick flick of the century, the girls are back at it again, but this time they’re a little bit older and not much wiser. There’s a reason millions of women are flocking to see this movie, and it’s got nothing to do with the acting.

Bringing Broadway to Bloomington

·

IU has a lot going for it – a beautiful campus, excellent library resources and a world-renowned school of music. But one thing the campus contributes not only to its students but also to Bloomington as a whole is the IU Auditorium, whose upcoming season undeniably has something for every audience member.

A letter from Dean of Students Richard McKaig

As you begin the fall semester, you are joining an exciting student community filled with options and opportunities. At times you will be given more information about programs, services and policies than you will ever read, and then you will have questions for which no answers seem available.

Front: Minorities at IU

As Senator Obama stands poised to secure the Democratic nomination, a proverbial elephant has planted itself in the arena of American politics. Even as the country takes steps toward the largest vote of confidence for a black man in recent history, one nagging issue remains on everyone’s mind: race.

Campillo finishes in tie for 2nd at NCAA Championships

·

On the 10th hole in the final round of the NCAA Golf Championships, junior Jorge Campillo sliced his second shot left, landing it only two inches from the water hazard. With only one option, he took off his shoes and socks and hit his next shot with his feet in the water.
