Letter: Little 5 a cappella noise violations?

My afternoon and evening were ruined because I couldn’t stop dwelling over the fact that the police had just claimed that an instrument-free a cappella band had caused a noise violation at 4:15 in the afternoon.

Indiana State Police have announced they will conduct a sobriety checkpoint in Monroe County on Friday. The exact time and location of the checkpoint will not be released, according to an ISP press release.

11,266 names create new sustainability fund

Thanks to the Student Sustainability Council’s green initiative in fall of last year to petition enough signatures for the IU Sustainability Fund, students will now have the option to donate $5 when registering for classes online just by checking a box.

Students in the School of Informatics and Computing sponsored an open house at the University’s official robot research center, R-House, on Wednesday. They wanted to honor the nation’s second annual National Robotics Week.

‘Anything Goes’ hoists sails at IU

Aboard the S.S. American, the IU Theatre Department will go back to the 1920s with Cole Porter’s musical “Anything Goes.” Opening at 7:30 p.m. Friday, “Anything Goes” will close IU Theatre’s 2010-11 season.

Little 500 week is upon us. For many students, that means seeing Lil Wayne and Pretty Lights in all their glory. However, the traditional Little 500 line-up is missing a key segment of the Bloomington population — women.

IU sweeps doubleheader with OSU

The IU softball team improved its record to 24-15 (6-2) after sweeping a doubleheader Wednesday against Ohio State. The Hoosiers outscored the conference rival Buckeyes by a combined total of 12-2 in the two games, winning the second game 9-0 in five innings due to the eight-run mercy rule.

Since they aren’t a fraternity, Evans Scholars is an independent cycling team. They could recruit riders from outside their house to ride for them or they could ride for other independent teams — but that’s not the Evans Scholar way.


Baseball vs. Indiana State

Baseball defeats ISU with clutch scoring

After IU gave up three runs in the top of the seventh inning, sophomore second baseman Micah Johnson and senior outfielder T.C. Knipp batted in three to cement a 6-3 win against Indiana State at Sembower Field.
