Women's golf exits postseason after finishing 18th

The team had said since the start of the season that it wanted to get to Athens, Ga. and compete for a national championship. That didn’t pan out, as the team finished 18th in the NCAA Central Regional Saturday in Norman, Okla. with a final tally of 911 over 54 holes at the Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club.

January rape reported to BPD

Car accident leads to marijuana bust

After responding to the scene of a single-car crash, officers found over 30 grams of marijuana in the driver’s backpack, BPD Sgt. Dana Cole said.

Man reportedly stabbed by 70-year-old after altercation

Police responded around 1:50 a.m. Friday to a call from a 29-year-old man who reported being stabbed by a 70-year-old man he knew on the 600 block of East Sherwood Hills Drive, according to the Bloomington Police Department.

IU named 2013 Laureate by Computerworld

IU was recently recognized as a 2013 Laureate by IDG Enterprise’s Computerworld Honors Program, according to a press release. The annual award program honors visionary information technology applications that encourage positive social, economic and educational change. IU earned the distinction for the eTexts initiative and recent wireless network upgrade to ensure reliable, secure access to digital materials, according to the release.

IU receives funding from state

IU Bloomington will receive $184.8 million in state funding in the coming year. This is a 2.5 percent increase from this year.
