Fire call leads to meth lab discovery

Smoke coming from an apartment bathroom on West Second Street led officers to discover an active meth lab, BPD Sgt. Dana Cole said.

Bloomington police and fire departments responded to smoke and a chemical smell around 11 a.m. Saturday at 222 W. Second Street.

The building had no occupants, but BPD is considering a suspect as leasing information becomes available, Cole said.

The case has been forwarded to the Indiana State Police’s meth team for cleanup.
