Indiana men’s basketball secured its first transfer portal addition Monday, as former Georgia Institute of Technology guard Jaeden Mustaf committed to the Hoosiers, per On3’s Joe Tipton. The 6-foot-6 sophomore played two seasons with the Yellow Jackets.
Mustaf, a former four-star recruit out of Overtime Elite in Atlanta, averaged 10.4 points and 4.3 rebounds per game during the 2025-26 season. His sophomore campaign was highlighted by a 28-point performance against Clemson University on March 7 in the team’s final game of the year.
As a freshman, Mustaf made 10 starts in 26 appearances. He averaged 8.3 points per game but reached double figures in nine contests. In 2025-26, Mustaf shot 43.3% from the field, 38.9% from beyond the arc and 72.7% from the free throw line.
After a slow start, the Bowie, Maryland, native surged late in the season. Mustaf scored double figures in each of the Yellow Jackets’ final six games, averaging 16.3 points per contest over the team’s final stretch of the season.
Mustaf is Indiana head coach Darian DeVries’ first commitment of the 2026 transfer portal after securing 10 last offseason. The Hoosiers must rebuild through the portal once again, as six seniors and five transfers are set to depart the program.
Freshman forward Trent Sisley is the lone player in DeVries’ inaugural rotation to return for 2026-27, and he’ll be joined by Mustaf as well as a trio of freshman top 80 recruits. Guard Prince-Alexander Moody and forwards Vaughn Karvala and Trevor Manhertz comprise DeVries’ first true freshman class since taking over the program in spring 2025.
In year two of the DeVries era, the Hoosiers will look to improve on an 18-14 record and return to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2023.
