Utah's Bogut leading vote-getter on AP

Andrew Bogut was just another international player when the college basketball season started, not even meriting an honorable mention in the preseason All-America balloting. All that has changed now for the 7-foot sophomore from Australia. The Utah center was the leading vote-getter on The Associated Press' All-America team announced Tuesday.

The Roots to take IU back to 'old school'

IU professor's devotion not forgotten

So many professors are forgotten as many people pass through the giant that is IU, but to Kipchoge Kirkland's friends and colleagues, he will not be. Kirkland, assistant professor since 2002 in the School of Education, died of natural causes Friday, according the education school's Web site. He was 35. Director of Recruitment and Retention at the School of Education Ghangis Carter said Kirkland will be extremely missed.

People from the past and present with careers in the arts and politics, as well as those with less recognizable faces, meet on the walls of the Neal-Marshall Black Culture Center. The result is an array of colorful paintings and drawings that reflect a spirit of history and diversity.

High school shooting suspect ends life after killing 9 others

RED LAKE, Minn. -- The boy accused of killing nine people in a shooting spree first shot his grandfather and his grandfather's companion, then donned the man's police-issue gun belt and bulletproof vest before heading to his high school, where he shot students and teachers at random, authorities said Tuesday.

Never thought I'd get in 'the mix' of Little 500

When I was little, riding a bike came almost as natural as walking to me. I had this sit-down scooter bike I always used and I don't know how long it was before I could actually walk. I'd get off the floor, climb onto the scooter and wheel around our hardwood floors. It took a while before Mom realized I was going wherever I needed by riding it and that I couldn't walk, couldn't even toddle, and that was about the time the scooter disappeared on me. Ever since, bicycling's been an innate way for me to move around.

There is a civil war brewing deep inside the head of graduate student Steve Cornett, with monsters, heroes, princes, emperors, demons and dragons all waging battle. But there is also a 200-page document he's virtually memorized detailing how those fantastic creatures and causes fit together in a massive digital card game he's developing. In the end, they will leave his head as "Guardians of Kelthas," a game in the vein of "Magic: The Gathering," but with the added technology and interactivity of a computer.
