He’s given lectures dressed as the Cat in the Hat. He’s taken pies to the face, to the point where he’s famous for it. He’s even approved a naked poetry session at Collins Living-Learning Center. But after a glittering 38-year career, legendary Dean of Students Dick McKaig is retiring.

After the Hoosiers’ 2009 Big Ten Championship and NCAA Louisville Regional appearance, two feats IU baseball had not accomplished since 1996, it’s safe to say IU coach Tracy Smith’s project has begun.

Even sports teams are feeling the financial pinch

On Tuesday, newspapers published statistics showing that the 20 Premier League teams owe a total of 3.1 billion pounds (about $5.1 billion). The top two clubs – Manchester United and Chelsea – topped the list with 699 million pounds and 701 million pounds, respectively.

Sure, we can keep texts, store them. In many ways they are more real than the memories we hold in our minds. But there’s something not quite right about them.

Elkhart-Goshen posts biggest jobless jump

Jobless rates rose in all the largest U.S. metropolitan areas for the fourth straight month in April, according to government data released Wednesday.
