VITA provides local tax help

Starting today, IU Maurer School of Law and Kelley School of Business students will be providing free tax assistance to low-income, elderly, disabled and limited-English-speaking residents.

Full time student by day, part time officer by night

For 17 IU students, they are both full-time students and part-time police officers. As certified officers, one of their priorities is to foot patrol the grounds of residence halls. In addition to daily patrol, IUPD officers may also live where they work.

After the Rush: not everyone gets a bid

IU’s recruitment process is unique both in how and when women rush. Solman said rushing in January allows women to transition into college, get involved on campus and do well academically before joining a sorority. IU also operates on a bed total, which means the houses accept as many girls as they have room for regardless of how many girls are actually rushing.

IU finishes 14th in Puerto Rico, season-worst

IU coach Clint Wallman and the IU women’s golf team opened up the 2010 spring season tournament schedule with a 14th-place finish in the Lady Puerto Rico Classic. Despite playing in one of the toughest fields in the nation, the Hoosiers got off to a hot start with a 304 in round one, putting them in sixth place. A second-round 316 total dropped IU to 13th out of the 16-team field. The Hoosiers closed the tournament with a 321 on Tuesday in San Juan, Puerto Rico.


Recruits agree - Yeagley right for job

Todd Yeagley is his father’s son – and that’s a problem for some IU fans. The son of IU legend Jerry Yeagley took the reins of the IU men’s soccer program under questionable circumstances, if you ask some members of Hoosier nation. A commenter on the IDS Web site claimed that the younger Yeagley was hired “not for experience or talent, but his name and thanks to Daddy.”

OSU walk-on, blogger makes return to Assembly Hall

This year’s Ohio State squad (18-6), currently ranked No. 13 in the country, has just a single Indiana native. And while this particular player has earned just 47 minutes in four years, he might be the most well-known Buckeye of them all.

Hoosier guard ready for second chance

Before every home game, he is there.  On the same court where he shot 9-of-11 and scored 29 points against Ohio State. On the same court where he lost 10 games and won five. On the same court where this season he hoped to help the Hoosiers return to national prominence. He is in the same huddle, among the same candy-striped wearing teammates he played with, some for a whole season, some for only two games.

‘Superstar’ performance to rock IU Auditorium stage
