Capitol, White House briefly evacuated

WASHINGTON -- The U.S. Capitol and White House were evacuated Wednesday after a small plane entered restricted airspace and came within three miles of the executive mansion. Military jets scrambled to intercept the aircraft and fired warning flares.

Hoosiers to meet Bush again

While President Bush worked hard to return to the White House in 2005, the IU men's soccer team did the same. As a result of winning the 2004 Men's Soccer National Championship in December, the Hoosiers earned a return trip to the White House Friday to be recognized for their achievements.

The IU baseball team will return to action this weekend as they head to Ann Arbor, Mich., to take on the University of Michigan. The four-game series will begin at 5:35 p.m. Friday at Michigan's Fisher Stadium.

More blasts rock Iraq, killing 60

KIRKUK, Iraq -- Five suicide attacks in three cities in Iraq killed more than 60 people Wednesday. In the deadliest, a man with hidden explosives set them off in a line of people outside a police and army recruitment center in northern Iraq, killing 30 and wounding 35, police said.

Enjoying sunny, warm weather, sleeping until 10 a.m., walking the nearby pristine beaches and stargazing at night sounds like a fantasy vacation, but for senior Betsy Mills, an astronomy major, it was all part of a 10-week internship at the Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatory in La Serena, Chile this past semester.

Herbert: Mural should stay

The controversial panel of the Thomas H. Benton Mural in Woodburn Hall should stay where it is because it helps to make sure the tragedies of racism will not be forgotten, said IU President Adam Herbert in an interview earlier this month.
