IU-Cincinnati Women's Basketball

IU wins 64-57 against Cincinnati

Click here for a recap of the Live Chat with women's basketball beat reporters Ari Shifron and Candice Rohrman from IU's matchup against a tough Bearcat squad.

Pilgrim hat

Don’t forget the dress(ing)

·

Thanksgiving doesn’t have to force multi-patterned, turkey sweaters out of storage. Oftentimes, the dressing on our bodies is just as important as the dressing on our plates. Follow these simple guidelines to transform your dinner table apparel from pilgrim bleak to runway chic:

Raw turkey

Make the day more special with a game of Butterball

·

After you’ve worked your way through Grandma’s assortment of Thanksgiving confections, you might want to take that extra turkey in the refrigerator and gear up for what’s sure to be a memorable game of “Butterball.”

War strategy

Plan dinner interactions carefully

·

When I was 10 years old, we had a big family Thanksgiving in Texas with all eight siblings from my mother’s side. During the celebratory dinner, one of my cousins dangled his napkin over the dinner candles and was so surprised when it caught fire that he dropped it and in turn, lit the drapes on fire.

Cornucopia

What the pilgrims really ate

·

Everyone in America knows this historical reading of our legend of the “First Thanksgiving.” We find a connection to the past every fall when we gorge ourselves on the same foods the Pilgrims had in plenty during their feast nearly 400 years ago. But how congruent were the menus? For sure, there are similarities, but there are also many differences between what we eat now and what they ate then.

Vinyl record

An ode to vinyl

·

I stopped buying CDs about two years ago. Ever since, it has taken genuine consideration and something very special to make me even think about dropping the cash for one. New music is so accessible anymore that it just feels like a chore to shop for it. Now, don’t get me wrong – I’m all for supporting the bands who make the music we love. Buy their music, collect their merchandise, give them gas money when they’re in the middle of touring and have to drive to Florida by tomorrow afternoon.  It’s just that I have found a new love – the sweet sound of spinning vinyl.
