The board, staffed by Judith Smith-Ille, Jan Ellis and Monroe County Clerk Linda Robbins, discussed a motion to stop using voter precincts and instead open vote centers for the 2012 elections.

IU plays in-state rival Purdue

In two matches last weekend, the Hoosiers were swept by two top-25 ranked teams, No. 24 Ohio State and No. 9 Penn State. The current 10-game losing streak is the longest since IU Coach Sherry Dunbar took over the program, one year after the Hoosiers lost the last 19 games of the 2006 season.

After the team’s 4-1 victory against Big Ten foe Michigan on Saturday, it appears the IU men’s soccer team leaders have refocused their team after its three-game skid a few weeks ago. But tonight, as they take on border-rival Kentucky at Jerry Yeagley Field, the No. 19 Hoosiers will have a whole new challenge to conquer.

Hurricane Irene wiped out an estimated one-third of the country’s pumpkin crop, flooding fields, breaking branches and taking some of the fill out of our pumpkin pie. Father-son duo brings artwork to local gallery

In 1970, David Coleman started his law firm in a Victorian-style building on Grant Street just south of Kirkwood Avenue. He worked there for almost 40 years. In 2008, he wanted to start a business with his son Gabe.

Alumna recalls racial experience in novel

Author and IU alumna Leena Ceraveeni sounds like a typical American with Midwestern roots. She grew up in Greenwood, Ind., attended IU as a journalism major and then moved to Texas. Her life was filled with culture clashes of Indian heritage and American upbringing. These personal racial experiences led her to write her first novel, “The Hometown.” The book is a coming-of-age novel that centers on 23-year-old Mala Thomas, an Indian American who copes with her racial identity.

Phillip Long, an employee of Traditional Dining Hall in Read Center, was found unconscious and facing the floor during employee dining time between 3:45 and 4 p.m. Tuesday.
