IU lands third 2014 football commit

According to peegs.com and the Los Angeles Times, Venice High School (California) quarterback Alexander Diamont committed to the IU football program Wednesday.

Five new IU football helmets

The IU football team unveiled five new helmets for the 2013 season Monday in a YouTube video. The team will use each helmet at least once during the upcoming season, as well as the traditional crimson helmet with the IU trident logo on each side.

The matter at hand is recruiting, which has become a sideshow — circus is the truly appropriate term — all its own. The first Wednesday in February is known to recruiting junkies as National Signing Day, which, in my mind, has been elevated to holiday status. It’s sickening, really.

IU’s football team completed its spring practice schedule Saturday afternoon during the annual Cream and Crimson Spring Game at Memorial Stadium.

Now situated with the team and with only one practice remaining until the 2013 Cream and Crimson Spring Game on Saturday, IU Coach Kevin Wilson said he is pleased with how Inge has fit in thus far.

Inge hired as linebackers coach

Before deciding to come to Bloomington, Inge served as the defensive coordinator and linebackers coach at Buffalo for the 2010 and 2011 seasons. Most recently, he was the assistant defensive line coach for the NFL's Buffalo Bills.

Four-star wide receiver Taj Williams, a high school senior from Tallahassee, Fla., has committed to IU, becoming the 23rd member of the Hoosiers’ 2013 class.
