Logging threatens ‘back country’

David Haberman has for years enjoyed hiking with his son in a secluded area of Morgan-Monroe and Yellowwood state forests. It’s one of the few places Hoosiers can experience the beauty of a mature forest, the religious studies professor said.


Pledge class members of Phi Kappa Sigma fraternity and Alpha Delta Pi sorority prepare for their IU Sing performance, Tuesday evening at the Phi Kappa Sigma house. The IU Sing performance, titled Ever After, will be taking place February 20-21 at the IU Auditorium.

Trustees to look at Master Plan

The board of trustees will discuss at a meeting today at IU-Southeast in New Albany the University’s Master Plan, a blueprint for IU’s architectural future.

Consistent Badgers pose challenge for Hoosiers

Since 2001, when Bo Ryan took over as Wisconsin's head coach, the Badgers have possessed one of the most recognizable styles of play in the country with their slow-it-down, slug-it-out defensive mentality.

A year ago this month, sophomore Rachel DiPietro-James was anxiously awaiting her return to Argentina to study abroad for the semester when she was killed in an car accident several months before her trip. Now, her friends at IU have decided to host a benefit concert to raise money for a memorial tree and a scholarship in her name.
