Purdue cites 10 engineering students for cheating

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Purdue University has cited 10 students for academic dishonesty after a weeklong review of possible cheating in an engineering class.

The dean of students office says the students could face probation, suspension or expulsion from school, but penalty decisions have not been made.

Purdue officials at first believed the cheating involved "a high percentage" of the 184 students enrolled in the sophomore-level class, which students take before advancing to upper-level courses in electrical and computer engineering.

Information on how the students were suspected of cheating was not provided.
