I am getting quite sick of the condemnation of Gen. Peter Pace, as if the man deserves to be completely discredited for espousing his views on homosexuality.
This kind of political correctness is chipping away at the First Amendment, and it’s getting to the point where if somebody openly has values that do not fall in line with the PC crowd, he will be ceaselessly slandered and put down and possibly forced to resign.
“Bigot” in 2009 is equivalent to what “communist” was in the 1950s – the word has become a rhetorical weapon used by zealots to destroy people’s reputations.
Where was the condemnation from the left when John Edwards – who had an adulterous affair while his wife was suffering from stage-four breast cancer – came to speak at IU?
Why is what John Edwards did OK, but what Gen. Pace said not acceptable?
The ability of the leftists to twist and distort everything to suit their own purposes never ceases to amaze me. I especially love it when their own pet causes clash with each other, and they tie themselves into knots trying to justify it all.
This is a free country – you are free to say what you want, Gen. Pace is free to say what he wants, and the Kelley School and any other organization is free to honor him however they see fit.
And you are just going to have to deal with it.
