Burglaries by the years

Crime, fire reports now available

During the past year, IU has seen a slight increase in burglaries in on-campus properties and housing and a slight decrease in forcible sex offenses, according to IU’s annual Security and Fire Safety Reports for 2010.

This was the start of the Bloomington Playwrights Project’s new series of all-original plays titled “Bomb/Shell,” which features eight plays, each lasting no longer than ten minutes and drawing from the theme “Making War Making Peace.”

Boat race raises scholarship money

The Council for Advancing Student Leadership’s 11th annual Cardboard Boat Regatta raised money for student scholarships. Each boat held two contestants, each with an oar to paddle through the 50 meters of water.

The Hoosiers’ Big Ten season opens Saturday when Penn State, coached by Joe Paterno in his 45th season, comes to Memorial Stadium. The Nittany Lions are 3-1 on the year, and their only loss is against the No. 3 Alabama Crimson Tide. Game time is noon. Monroe Country Coroner Nicole Meyer has confirmed that an autopsy took place Thursday in the case of Matthew Erickson, an IU freshman who died in his room in Read Center on Wednesday.
