Column: Expect Hoosiers to roll Nicholls State

As thousands of IU students drive out of Bloomington for winter break, Nicholls State (3-5) comes into Assembly Hall for a bout with IU (8-3).Nicholls State has had a tough season, losing to several teams by double digits. This may be IU’s easiest game of the year.

$40 million donated for Assembly Hall renovations

3:28 p.m. - IU president Michael McRobbie announced the largest gift in IU Athletics history Thursday, accepting a $40 million donation from Cynthia "Cindy" Simon Skjodt to renovate Assembly Hall. Her donation will see the building renamed to Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall.

Kelley students win language competition

Three students in the Kelley School of Business won first place in the Spanish-language division of the Business Language Case Competition at Brigham-Young University. Junior Paul Gilson and seniors Nathan Lohrmann and Brianna Terrell brought home a trophy and $2,000 prize from the competition in Provo, Utah.

Study reveals gender bias in scientific fields

A new study led by Sugimoto and the IU School of Informatics and Computing found that barriers to women in the ranks of science is not an issue of the past. Women were underrepresented 30 to 70 percent globally in authorship of academic publications.

Hoosier track and field teams start indoor season

The Hoosiers’ track and field team opened the indoor season by playing host to their first of five home indoor competitions Friday and Saturday in the Hoosier Open at Gladstein Fieldhouse in a non–scoring event.
