In a report to members of the IU board of trustees Thursday, Interim Provost Michael McRobbie said the University plans to cut 47 positions on the Bloomington campus for the 2006-07 school year.

Student has surgery after attack in Foster

A victim of an "unprovoked" aggravated assault in Foster Quad last week underwent reconstructive surgery Monday and applied for a medical withdrawal from IU, according to an IU Police Department press release.
