Four libraries facing closures

Several campus branch libraries may soon check out their last book. This week confusion and rumors circled about the possibility of four individualized school libraries closing by the end of Summer Session II.

IU to cut 47 Bloomington positions

In a report to members of the IU board of trustees Thursday, Interim Provost Michael McRobbie said the University plans to cut 47 positions on the Bloomington campus for the 2006-07 school year.

Student has surgery after attack in Foster

A victim of an "unprovoked" aggravated assault in Foster Quad last week underwent reconstructive surgery Monday and applied for a medical withdrawal from IU, according to an IU Police Department press release.

In an April 27 Indiana Daily Student article, "200 view documentary," the number of Sudanese killed in the Darfur conflict was overestimated. An estimated 200,000 to 400,000 Sudanese have died. The IDS regrets the error.

Indianapolis to continue seeking major sports event

Fireman to run in mini-marathon in full gear

Trainer of top Derby contender Lawyer Ron handles it all

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Lawyer Ron was getting a sponge bath, the early morning sunlight glistening off his wet, chestnut coat. On the other side of the barn, the man he is named after was closing a deal to sell the colt, one of the Kentucky Derby favorites. Business as usual for the four-legged Lawyer Ron.
