I believe it something of a virtue to be willing to change your mind about what candidate you’re voting for this late into the election. That being said, I find it highly likely that come November I will cast my ballot for Barack Obama. Given the liberal skew of our age demographic and the activity I have seen around campus, I doubt I will be alone.

No love for "Guru"

For comedy lovers, the last two weekends have been plagued by sadness, as “The Love Guru” and “Get Smart” reminded viewers of all that is wrong with American comedies. Now don’t get me wrong – there is definitely a place for ridiculous movies.

Goodbye, Greenspan

We expected it, but not like this. After the first report of former basketball coach Kelvin Sampson’s recruiting infractions and the resulting wave of controversy, many wished Director of Athletics Rick Greenspan would resign as well. But he weathered the storm and its initial fury, only to make it to a point in the time line of the scandal relatively tame in comparison to what preceded it.

Hoosiers head west to Olympic Trials

For track athletes Kyle Jenkins and Abbie Stechschulte their seasons have not been without disappointment, but both athletes have another chance at redemption when they compete in the U.S. Olympic Team Track and Field Trials in Eugene, Ore., which take place June 27-July 6.

IUPD teaches recruits police-driving skills

Police officers and officers-in-training have the chance this week to drive at high speeds. Friday will culminate a weeklong Emergency Vehicle Operations Course training program for IU Police Department Police Academy cadets and IUPD, Bloomington Police Department and Monroe County Sheriff’s Department personnel, according to an IU Police Department press release.

Retirement party to be held for outgoing IU Foundation president

A crowd of more than 500 students, faculty and staff are expected to gather in the Musical Arts Center on Friday for a retirement celebration in honor of IU Foundation President Curt Simic, said Barbara Coffman, IU Foundation Executive Director of Strategic Planning and Communications.
