If you find yourself listening to rock radio a lot, you may consider Scars and Souvenirs one of the best albums of the year; but if you are tired of bands like Nickelback and Hinder, this release will seem jaded and cliche. There’s nothing extraordinarily original here, but Theory of a Deadman has made a fun ride through and through.

Punk revivalists Anti-Flag continue their anti-establishment campaign with The Bright Lights of America. Wait, anti-establishment from RCA? Is that possible? Head-scratching, yes. But don’t let the RCA tag fool you; these guys refuse to hold back their displeasure with the powers-that-be, while delivering more fist-pumping, chant-along music.

The IU softball team (11-26) took out the Indiana State Sycamores 4-1 on Wednesday as junior pitcher Monica Wright continued her dominance against non-Big Ten Conference opponents.

Hoosiers take pounding in Ohio, use 7 pitchers

IU baseball coach Tracy Smith called on his pitching staff to improve after losing three of four against Illinois last weekend. But a trip east to Oxford, Ohio, only left Smith more frustrated, after Miami (Ohio) took the Hoosier pitching staff to the proverbial barn, scoring 10 earned runs in an 11-4 victory.
